We had been kicking around the idea of a mural on the alley side of our building for a while and it just so happened that Versailles' own Stephen Sawyer has had a passion project of a specfic mural in mind for quite a while.
There are several veterans depicted along the bottom from different eras. The image of the Continental soldier of the Revolutionary War on the left end is the namesake of our Post's meeting/bingo hall, Capt. William P. Black. He was the first Medal of Honor recipient from Kentucky and the only one born in Woodford County. Info on each Veteran can be found on Mr. Sawyer's Veterans Mural Page.
There is a QR code on the mural which when scanned will also take you to Mr. Sawyer's Veterans Mural Page where you can read more about the mural as well as each Veteran depicted.
